Metropolitan Bus

AMT "ALIBUS" runs every 20 minutes from 5:00 to midnight. From the airport to the city centre and the train station - metropolitan bus fare applies. 

Country locations

A.S.T provides bus services from the airport to the towns of: Avola, Caltagirone, Carleniti, Grammichele, Ispica, Noto, Palagonia.

GIUNTABUS provides bus services from the airport to the port of Milazzo from April to September for hydrofoil and ferry connections to the Eolian Islands

SAIS AUTOLINE provides services from the airport to the towns of: Enna, Messina, Palermo.

Taxi

You will find taxis outside the terminal. Look for the yellow or white taxis. If you order a taxi by phone you will be charged for the distance the taxi had to travel to get to you. So take a cab from a public place to save money. It takes around 15-20 minutes to get into the city. Cost: EUR 30-45.

Helicopter

Yes, helicopter. You can travel by helicopter almost everywhere. Two companies are available:

Catania-Fontanarossa Airport is 4 km southwest of Catania in Sicily, Italy. The airport has a single terminal with two levels.

• The Arrivals level is divided into a Schengen area and non-Schengen area with stores and information desk. The Schengen arrivals hall has five baggage carousels, the non-Schengen has two.
• The Departures level has four check-in desks, a food court, business lounge, and access to gates. There are cafes and shops available after security.

• Alitalia Club Freccia Alata Bellini, main terminal, landside, next to check-in area. Hours: 5:30-21:30 daily.
• VIP Lounge SAC, main terminal, airside, 3rd floor, next to gate 5. Hours: 6:30-21:00 daily.

You will find car hire agencies in the arrivals area of the airport. The following hire companies are available: Hertz, Holiday Car Rental, Hollywood Rent A Car, Italy Car Rent.
