Dublin Airport - DUB

Dublin Airport is a busy but efficient airport lying 10km north of the city centre. It has two terminals in separate buildings, both with plenty of eating, drinking and shopping options:

• Terminal 1: The older terminal, recently renovated, hosting mainly short-haul flights, including all Ryanair flights.
• Terminal 2: A newer, more modern building (shaped like a plane wing), with a large food court before security. It services all Aer Lingus flights and most long-haul flights. You'll find the handy US preclearance facility here.

There is a walkway between terminals.

Tip: When travelling with children, you can skip the queues going into security by using the 'assistance' lane.

There's no train into the city centre (though there's one planned for 2027), but that really doesn't matter because the coach service is excellent, and offers free Wi-Fi.

Bus

The Dublin Aircoach runs 24 hours a day, leaving every 15 minutes from 03:25-23:55 (every 30 minutes at night). The total journey time is around 30 minutes but varies depending on traffic. The Aircoach also goes to Cork and Belfast if you're travelling further afield. Take the route 700 if you're travelling to Dublin City Centre.

Location: 

Terminal 1, outside Arrivals, exit baggage claim, turn left as you leave the building
Terminal 2, outside Departures, exit baggage claim, follow the coach signs, cross the footbridge and go down the escalator and turn left

Tip: Buy your ticket online before you arrive for a discounted fare and quicker boarding

The Airlink Express service connects Dublin Airport with many of Dublin's main locations. The Airlink 747 and Airlink 757 connect Dublin Airport with Commons Street, O'Connell Street, Christ Church, Ushers Quay and more. Travel time from Dublin Airport to Dublin City Centre is 15 minutes.

Cost: EUR 6 one way, EUR 11 return. Return tickets are valid for two months.

Taxi

Taxi prices will depend on the time of day and the amount of traffic. Journey time to the city centre is around 30 minutes. Official Dublin taxis are all different models of car, but all have a yellow TAXI sign on the roof.

Showering facilities are available in the Terminal 2 Executive Lounge.

Hours of operation: 05:00-20:30 daily

A left luggage facility, operated by Greencaps, is available for short- and long-term storage of luggage. Rates vary depending on the size of baggage. 

Location: Terminal 1, before security, arrivals 

Opening hours: 05:00-23:00 daily

Dublin Airport has no shuttle buses or light railways connecting the two terminals, however, there is a covered walkway that let you cross from one terminal to the other.

The walkway is in the Arrivals Hall. You’ll see it to the left after you pass through customs. If you can't find the walkway, simply look for a customer service assistant (CRA) in a pink polo shirt.
