Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (MY)
Kuala Lumpur International Airport lies around 50km south of the city centre. It has two terminals, 2km apart:
Train
The fastest way to Kuala Lumpur is the KLIA Ekspres non-stop service, taking just 28 minutes to KL Sentral Station from KLIA1, and 33 minutes from KLIA2. Trains run from 04:55-00:55 and leave every 15 minutes during peak hours (Mon-Fri, 06:00-09:00 and 16:00-22:00), and every 20 minutes at other times.
Location: Basement platforms in both terminals (well-signposted)

Taxi
If you're travelling in a group of two or three people, it's best to take a taxi. The Taxi Coupon Counter in Arrivals guarantees a fixed fee; ask for a budget taxi there and give your destination. After paying, you’ll be given a coupon stating your destination and how much you’ve paid; no need to pay the driver or tip. For three people, this works out cheaper than the train, and you get door-to-door service.
Cost: Around RYM 80-90 into KL city centre
Sama Sama Hotel offers ‘Day Spa’ packages. MYR 60 will buy you the use of an outdoor pool, sauna, spa pools, fitness centre, lockers, showers and free Wi-Fi. You'll also get towels and a pack of flashy toiletries included. The hotel’s just 5 minutes’ walk from the airport. Take the covered Skybridge, and you can’t miss it.
If you have a short layover, with not enough time to get into KL, head for the C-Gates, in Satellite Building A of the KLIA 1 Main Terminal. It only takes 3 minutes to get there by Aerotrain shuttle, and there are far more shops, restaurants and attractions to explore, ranging from Harrods to a natural rainforest.
The Tune Hotel at KLIA2 offers a good rest and hassle-free check-in, with room rates from around MYR 150. You can check in to Air Asia flights and print your boarding pass at the hotel itself, as they have web check-in machines and kiosks in the lounge, and it’s less than 10 minutes’ walk to the baggage drop in the airport.
Power outlets can be found all over the KLIA airport. However here are some specific locations:
Kuala Lumpur airport is known for having many very exclusive lounges by the biggest Asian carriers.
