Macau International Airport - MFM

Macau Airport is on the eastern shore of Taipa Island, 7 kilometres southeast of the city centre.

The airport is a small single terminal with three levels. Ground floor is Arrivals with customs, security, baggage claim, and ground transportation. The 1st floor is Departures with departures, check-in, and shops. The 2nd Floor offers VIP lounges and food options.

Taxi
Taxis are metered. There is a MOP 5 surcharge for airport trips, MOP 2 for the bridge toll, and MOP 3 per bag. A typical taxi to the city centre or ferry terminal costs MOP 40-50 (USD 5-6.25). The journey takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Bus
The AP1 bus runs a circular route from the Chinese border to the airport via the city centre and ferry terminal. Buses run from the airport every 10-13 minutes. The fare costs MOP 4.20 (USD 0.50) and MOP 3 per bag. Exact fare required. Be advised that buses can be very crowded and the journey takes about an hour.

Passengers bound for Hong Kong or Mainland China will be pleased to know that a service can connect them directly to the ferry terminal and border without passing through customs and immigration in Macau. All baggage is transferred from flight to final destination. Passengers arriving at the Hong Kong ferry terminal with a same-day flight from MFM are also eligible. The Air-to-Sea service costs MOP 50 (USD 6.25).

Ferry to Hong Kong

The Macau Ferry Terminal is approximately 10 minutes from the airport. There are 150 daily departures to Hong Kong on various vessels. Departures are every 5-15 minutes in the day and 30-60 minutes between 00:00-06:00. The journey takes 55 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport or the ferry terminal with prices starting at HKD 140 (USD 18) one-way. Reservations are recommended on weekends and public holidays.

Hours: 24 hours

This hotel is located just 100m from the airport and is an 8-minute walk away (shuttles also available). Amenities include fitness room, swimming pool, and a restaurant with panoramic views of the sea. The rooms are spacious and the staff very friendly. Breakfast is either Chinese style or very basic western style.
