Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is ranked as the fifth best airport in the world in its category. Trivandrum airport consists of two terminals; Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights and Terminal 2 handles domestic and international flights. Ground floor consists of the Arrival and Departure lounges and VIP lounges. The international terminal is designed elegantly and it boasts of a spacious lounge and refined decoration with generous use of glass and lighting. The first floor of the airport hosts immigration counters, security hold area and duty free shops and other relevant traveler amenities. The mezzanine floor operates the airlines offices, customs and other pertinent services. There are around 30 check-in counters to serve the travelers.
There are plans to build a new international terminal, namely Terminal 3. The new terminal, which is said to be nearer to the city center, will cater to all international flights and certain domestic flights.
There is a pre-paid taxi desk in the luggage claim area. Traveler may pay the rental tariff and obtain a receipt, which displays taxi number in it. Detailed tariff rates are shown in a board on the right hand side within the booth. You may see a sign “Prepaid Taxis” once you cross the access road after exiting from the airport.

Bus
There are air-conditioned buses outside the arrival halls of each terminal at the airport that go to the city centre. The ride takes about 10 minutes. First bus from Trivandrum airport to Ernakulam is at 06:40. Last bus from Ernakulam to Trivandrum airport is at 20:05. Ticket fare from Trivandrum airport to Ernakulam is around 360 INR. Tourists may take KSRTC Bus No. 14 that runs to the city bus terminal at East Fort, near the Padmanabaswamy temple from International terminal.
Train
There are two railway stations in Trivandrum; Trivandrum Pettah (TVP), which is 2.2 km away from the airport .Trivandrum central railway station, is 5.3 kilometer away from the airport. Frequency of operation from Trivandrum central railway station is better compared to Trivandrum Pettah Junction. Travelers may take a pre-paid taxi or auto to reach the railway station.
The first train from Trivandrum Pettah to Kanyakumari is at 09:55 and the last train from Trivandrum Pettah to Kanyakumari is at 19:40. The first train from Trivandrum Central to Kanyakumari is at 03:40 and the last train from Trivandrum Pettah to Kanyakumari is at 21:05. Rate between Trivandrum station and Kanyakumari is about INR 700 for second AC and INR 490 for third AC.
The first train from Trivandrum Central to Ernakulam Junction is at 03:40. The last train from Trivandrum Central to Ernakulam Junction is at 23:10. Rate between Trivandrum station and Ernakulam South is about INR 700 for second AC and INR 490 for third AC.
Ruby Arena Silver Castle Lounge is located in the first floor inside security lounge. The lounge is suspended from the roof at the departure centre of the new Trivandrum International Airport. This lounge is available for Business class passengers and International guests and for people traveling within India. This lounge offers different facilities like LCD Television, Charging points, Display screens, Periodicals and Newspapers, Shower, Internet etc. There is also a beer parlor named as Blue Moods. Silver Castle Lounge can accommodate 40 persons at a time.

Free power outlets are available for charging your cellular devices and laptops. The power outlets are available before the baggage and security check as well as after it.
There is Bipha Ayurveda in departure area. First Aid medical facility is available in the domestic terminal during flight timings. SUT Hospitals, Trivandrum provide the medical facility in the international terminal. In case of medical emergencies, travelers may make use of KIMS hospital, which is about 5.2 kilometers away from airport. S.U.T hospital is about 7.0 kilometers away from the airport.
