Getting around the airport

Maiquetia Simon Bolivar International Airport is located 21km northwest from the city centre of Caracas. It is the main international aiport of Venezuela. The locals simply call it "Maiquetia", after the city it is located. The Maiquetia Simon Bolivar Airport has two terminals:
Domestic Terminal
International Terminal
The airport building has four levels accessible for passengers and the two terminals are connected with a short walkway. Shopping and eating options are available throughout the airport, both landside and airside. You will also find a duty-free shopping area in the International Terminal. Landside, there are additional places such as a Spa and beauty salon and a chapel.
A number of local taxi operators serve the airport. Taxis can be pre-booked at the distinctive yellow desks in the arrival areas of both terminals. For safety reasons, passengers are strongly advised not to use unofficial taxis whose drivers tout for business in the terminal. Tha fare to the city is around USD 40.
Bus
UCAM buses run between the airport and Caracas. Bus stops are sitauted conveniently close to the metro stations in Caracas. A journey takes aroundd 40 minures and costs USD 5.
