Salgado Filho Airport lies 8km northeast from the city centre of Porto Alegre, Brazil. Its old name was Sao Joao Federal Airport, after the neighbourhood where it is located, but it was renamed Salgado Filho Aiport after the first Minister of the Brazilian Air Force. The modern aiport building has two terminals:
Terminal 1
Terminal 2
It is a three-leveled terminal building providing a wide range of shopping and eating options, including duty-free shops and markets which are open 24 hours. Terminal 1 offers more restaurants and shops than Terminal 2. There are additional services for passengers, including a massage service, a beauty salon, a shoeshine station and a chapel.
